Les Incivils, 1995

The project "permanent construction site" allowed to locate different shooting place. The series of photography initially planned for architectural magazines has become a series of movie sets. These sceneries had already been used by Pier Paolo Pasolini in his Uccellacci e Uccellini. The Uncivil is a partial remake of Uccellacci e Uccellini. To Pier Paolo Pasolini cinema is the written language of reality. Starting from this statement, in order to reactive it and to experiment this written story, I have decided to read the film as a tourist guide could be read. A film is broken off until someone wants to use it. It can therefore become a model to reality to replay. Thus the film shows the casting, the processes of interpretation, the hesitations, and the different choices : in short, its capacity to diverge toward other variants. This transitory state has the permanence of the unfinished houses around which the remake takes place. It also accounts from the mental state of the two characters, which materializes in the form of the road they walk on - the road that leads them to the houses along the way, which whom they engage in philosophical reflections on life.
